Description

A watch designed to last a lifetime. At Christopher Ward, luxury is not our priority. They focus on creating practical tool-watches, incorporating innovative complications while offering excellent value for money. They prefer to avoid the connotations of luxury associated with ostentation and forced rarity. If they enter this world, it will be on their own terms.

And that's exactly what they did. Here's the result: the Twelve, the first sports watch with an integrated bracelet since 2008's C20 Lido, marks a new high for Christopher Ward. It combines robust, reassuring build quality with elegant fit and finish, offering levels of quality worthy of five-figure watches in the real world. It bridges the grandiose gap between formal elegance and purely sporting style, an area where most of us live our daily lives.

The Twelve is inspired by the style established in the 1970s by the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus. These two models featured integrated bracelets that seemed to merge perfectly with the head of the watch, giving the impression of a single piece. Made from modest stainless steel, they ostensibly avoided precious metals, offering an individual and desirable aesthetic while allowing the watch industry to play with design.

The Douze offers these pleasures without the drawbacks. It houses some of Christopher Ward's boldest creations, with a subtly scalloped dodecagonal bezel, a highly textured three-dimensional dial reminiscent of the twin-flag logo, and intriguing surface finishes on the case, bracelet and bezel.

Turning the Douze in your hands will reveal meticulous attention to detail. Six exposed screws playfully recall the Royal Oak, maintaining the contour of the 12-sided caseback. Christopher Ward's sword and triangle are depicted with finesse and sophistication.

In short, the Douze is a carefully crafted piece in every respect. It sparkles in the sunlight, comes to life under subdued lighting and elegantly finds its place wherever you go. It embodies Christopher Ward's promise to create watches that marry functionality, aesthetics and accessibility, adapting to your lifestyle with refinement and distinction.
